Peter “Pete” DeStasio, of Davenport, Florida passed away on August 3, 2022. He was 63. Peter was born on December 3, 1958 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Anthony and Anne DeStasio. He worked in the trucking industry for 25 plus years, and attended St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, Florida.
Pete had a lifelong passion for music and in particular, playing the trumpet and the guitar. He enjoyed Rock and Roll, and his favorite band was The Beatles. Pete was blessed with such a talent, and he enjoyed sharing it with his family and his friends. In fact, during the pandemic he would do concerts on Saturdays for his community in his garage and when he couldn’t anymore, he would go “Live” on social media, even when he was sick. It is said that he had a spectacular voice. Pete enjoyed watching baseball and his favorite team were the New York Yankees. He was a family man who loved to be home listening and making music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anne. Peter leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, of 20 years, Cristina; brothers, Anthony and his wife, Patricia and Richard and his wife, Linda; brother-in-law, Enrique and his wife, Carolina; sister-in-law, Liliana; nieces, Jennifer, Lisa and Natalia and nephews, Anthony, Jonathan and Felipe. He will be truly missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, Florida. A funeral mass will follow at 2:30 p.m. at St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, Florida.
