Obituary of Barbara Lee Rollins

WINTER HAVEN - Barbara Lee Rollins, 74, of Winter Haven, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Florida Hospital Altamonte due to respiratory failure. Born August 28, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland, she moved to Winter Haven in 1958 from Austin, TX. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Winter Haven Hospital and the Polk County Health Dept. She was a member of the Christian Heritage Baptist Church; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Winter Haven Chapter 74 in Lake Alfred; a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America; a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; and she was a Kentucky Colonel. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Brook Holloway Rollins, III. She is survived by: a son, Major Brook H. Rollins, IV of Arlington, VA; three daughters, Mary Valerie Santos, Captain US Army retired, of Winter Haven, Teresa K. Velez of Palm Coast, FL and D. Christine Chapman of Orlando, FL; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Rollins of Sarasota, FL. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 1:00pm, Friday, May 25, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in her name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children .
