Obituary of Mary Oxford

Mary Oxford of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was 83. A native of New York City, born on July 18, 1938, to Edward and Cecilia Williams. Mary moved to Florida in 1973 from New York. She was retired nurse from the Polk County Health Department and Polk County Schools. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven and the Stitchery Group. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Oxford, her parents, Edward and Cecilia, her daughter, Bernadette Noel, her brother, Brian Williams, her sister, Patricia McCooey, and her grandson, Gerald 'Pug' Gregory. She is survived by her loving daughters Sheila Gregory (Charles), Kristin Shapiro (Marc), Valerie Godown (Jerry) and a son, Vincent Roach. She leaves behind 5 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4th at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, Winter Haven at 10:30. A private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to Good Shepard Hospice.
