Obituary of Margaret Ann Montesano

Margaret Ann Montesano was born in Miami, FL on January 20th 1952 where she spent the first half of her life before moving to Dundee. Eventually making her way to Winter Haven, she was a Polk County resident for 38 years prior to her death in Lake Wales, FL on January 18, 2022, after a 2nd round of COVID. She is survived by her devoted daughters Regina Montesano (Schilling) & Andrea Friedmann, most adored grandchildren Austin Roberts, Anna Schilling, Melanie Friedmann & Madison Friedmann and her loving siblings Erma Green, Mary Pearce, Edward James “Jim” Green Jr. and Timothy Green. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Edward “Ed” James Green & Montez Roberts Green, brother Jerry Patterson and twin sister baby girl Green. A Sunday school teacher for many years, Margaret was a woman of deep faith. Her relationship with God and love of family & friends were what she treasured most in life. She often spoke of how proud she was of her girls and all who knew her have no question that her grandchildren were the absolute delight of her life. In work, Margaret chose to focus her energy and passion toward helping the elderly. Her goal was to reinforce their self worth, believing it was essential in helping them retain their dignity. She delivered a special brand of love and compassion to those she came in contact with on a daily basis. As a near 7-year resident of Winter Haven Manor, Margaret was recognized as a sweet, caring, wonderful person by all the residents and workers who were so very good to her and whose lives she touched. Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in knowing that even in life she considered Heaven to be her ultimate home. A memorial service will be held at Auburndale Memorial Park on Thursday, February 3rd at 11am and followed by an open house reception from noon until 3pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. The family asks all who knew Margaret to join them and share memories of her life.
