Obituary of Hubert Earl Jenkins

Hubert Earl Jenkins, 77, of Haines City, Florida passed away on February 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born on January 12, 1945 in Chipley, Florida to Chester and Corrine Henderson Jenkins. Hubert moved to Haines City in 1961 from Chipley, Florida and worked as a tree planter in the citrus industry for many years until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Hubert enjoyed being around family, especially for cookouts. He loved his church family and doing work for the Lord. In his final days, he was surrounded by family and friends, especially the great grandchildren. Hubert was a simple man with a big heart, who would do anything for anyone. He was full of laughter and jokes and that is something that his loving family will always remember and keep close to their hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Corrine; daughter, Lisa Jenkins; siblings, Henry C. Jenkins, Buford Jenkins, Eloise Kittrell, Ruth Anderson, Johnny Johnson, Billy Johnson and Pauline Strickland. Hubert is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Jewell Tomberlin Jenkins; daughters, Jewell “Julie” Jenkins of Haines City, FL and Chelsea Jenkins of Lake Wales, FL; brother, Donald Jenkins of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, James King and wife, BJ of Winter Haven, FL and Kiley King of Dundee, FL; great grandchildren, Darren King, Emma Jenkins, David Money, Maddox King, Kali King, Lisa “LJ” Jewell Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL. The family requests memorial tributes be directed to Hubert’s funeral fund to assist with expenses.
