Obituary of Jean G. Robbins

Jean Gill Robbins, 88, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on February 1, 2022. She was born to Chester and Mattie Gill in Grant, Tennessee. Jean and her husband, Jerry, moved to Winter Haven more than 50 years ago from Nashville, Tennessee. Jean and Jerry spent many happy years in Winter Haven, raising a great family and running a successful Goodyear Service Center. She was a devoted Christian and attended Inman Park Church of Christ. Jean dearly loved her cat and beloved companion for many years, Oscar. She loved to watch her grandsons play baseball, enjoyed watching sports like football and soccer and was a huge Florida Gator fan. She had an amazing green thumb that nurtured many plants. She loved traveling, cooking, and playing Canasta with the girls. She was quick to make a friend wherever she went and never met a stranger. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mattie; sisters, Claudine and Louise; husband of 43 years Jerry. She is survived by her sons, Gill (Amy), Rob; daughters, Jennifer, and Kay; grandchildren, Laura (David), Caitlin, Eli (Adrian); great grandchildren, Ian and Lucas; as well many other family members and friends. Her memory will be a blessing for her family and all who knew her. A viewing will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at 9:00 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, FL followed by a funeral service at 10:00. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Per the families request please wear a mask during the services.
