Obituary of Eva Merle Hancock

Eva Merle “Granny” Hancock, 83, of Davenport, Florida went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at her son Lou’s home in Alabama. She was born on August 27, 1938 in Lakeland, Florida to Lucious Late Butler and Eunice Glass Ross. She was raised and loved by her dad, Gary Clyde Ross. Eva Merle was a devoted Christian and member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Davenport, Florida. Eva Merle was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and church. She was always there to help and care for anyone in need. She loved fishing, riding through the woods and pastures checking cows with her beloved husband TL. She will be truly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, T.L. Hancock; sons, Terry Lee and Jimmy DeWayne; granddaughter, Ashley Renee Hancock; grandson, William Cody; and brothers, G.W. and Lucious Butler. Eva leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, John Leland and wife Dawn, Gary Wayne Hancock of Davenport, Florida, Lou Hancock and wife, Teri of Bankston, Alabama; sisters, Betty Jane Mendenhall and Lois Gonsalves; and a special daughter, Emily “Cookie” Neviaser; grandchildren, Jessica Toler, Lindsey Hill and husband, Rhett, Terry Hancock and wife Melody, Thomas Hancock and wife Sarah, Crystal Deaton and husband Kyle, Ciara Hancock and Jerome, Nicky Hancock and Cameron, Jamie Bolton and husband Josh, Justin Hancock and wife Mary; 19 and one on the way great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. follow by a service at 9:00 a.m. all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, Florida. Final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, Florida. A reception will follow immediately after the interment at First Baptist Church 102 Maple St W Davenport, Florida 33837.
