Obituary of George Postell

George “Eddie” Postell Jr., 58, entered into rest on February 13, 2022. George was born on Aug 2, 1963 and was a lifelong resident of Winter Haven Florida. George 'Eddie' joined the United States Marine Corps right out of high school in 1982. That was the start of 23 years of service to this country. Out of the military he continued to serve citizens at the City of Lakeland, Florida. He was an avid hunter and all-around outdoorsman, with trips to Alaska, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming. He was a family man, that has a large family who loves him. Along with a large group of friends, many of them he considered family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances P. Black and his father James C. Black; his niece, Amanda Graham and great-nephew, Larry Graham. He is survived by his brother, Robert Black; sisters, Jane Quick and Sherry Garrett; nephew, Justin Harrison; nieces, Arabia (Amos) Dinger, Andrea Harrison, Alana Quick; great-niece, Sophia and great-nephew, Adam; uncles, AJ Pearson and Donald (Gloria) Postell; aunt, Cissy (Tommy) Matthews; many cousins who he loves and many close friends whom he considered family. Funeral services will be at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, FL. 33881. Visitation will be on Monday evening February 21st from 6-8 pm. There will be an additional visitation from 10 –11 am on Tuesday morning before the service begins at 11 am with interment following at Rolling Hills Cemetery. Reception at Oak Ridge following the graveside service. He is now regrouping with his unit. -Semper Fi
