Obituary of Louise May Hessil

Louise May Hessil 91 of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at home in her bed with her family at her side. She was born in Opp, Alabama and moved to Winter Haven, Florida as a young girl. She grew up in Winter Haven and attended Winter Haven High School. She relocated as an adult and spent time living in Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. She found her way back to the State of Florida that she loved so much in 1992.

Louise was a homemaker most of her life but did spend some years working as a factory worker and was part business owner of the family operated motel for 3 years. She was of the Christian faith and attended Altoona United Methodist Church in Altoona, Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She was loving, kind and giving. She enjoyed family gatherings, going to yard sales, going out to eat with family & friends, music, cooking and keeping her mind busy with word-find puzzle books. She will be dearly missed because she truly made an impact in the lives of others that loved her.

Travis Wickey, Spencer Wickey, Justin Wickey, Pamela Clark, Shelly Blomvik, Frank Stowell Jr, Samuel Stowell, Roy Miller, Katrina Wagner, and Richard Southwell; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A special thank you to her son Frank Stowell and his wife Mary Kay Stowell who cared for Louise the last seven years of her life in Winter Haven.  Louise's daughter Roxanna Southwell was able to help care for her also each weekend and for 5 weeks in the Summer during the last year of her life. Her daughter Linda Stowell also helped care for her two weeks each July from 2015-2018 in Elkhart, Indiana. The love and care of her children meant a lot to Louise.
