Eleanor Pettus

Obituary of Eleanor J. Pettus

Eleanor J. Pettus, 89, of Davenport, FL and formerly of Ellington CT, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, on July 7, 2022. Born in Hartford CT, to Hjalmer and Marie Fairbanks, she was one of three children. Ellie worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the Burroughs Corp. in Tolland and later retired from the Town of Ellington after working as a school bus driver. Ellie had a beautiful singing voice, was a self taught pianist, and enjoyed acting in local theater. Ellie loved hosting Christmas Eve, making the traditional Norwegian rice pudding, and eating Christmas cookies. Her hobbies included sewing and cross-stitching, playing cards, swimming, cross country skiing, bowling, watching soap operas, college football, and golf.

Her favorite adventure was being married to the love of her life Frazer, whom she joined in heaven just hours after his passing.

Eleanor and Frazer enjoyed traveling throughout most of the United States on their Gold Wing motorcycle pulling a camper, later adding a side-car, and eventually touring in their RV.

Ellie was a woman of faith and held Christian values that she passed down to her children and grandchildren. Ellie is survived by her three children, David Petrozza and his wife Kim, Janet Allegra and her husband Arthur, and Daniel Petrozza and his wife Doreen, two step-daughters Laura Pettus and Carol Pfeifer.

Ellie, like her mom, adored her grandchildren, Heather Petrozza and her fiancé Michael, Robin Johnson and her companion DJ, Angelina Petrozza and her fiancé JJ, Alisha Goss and her husband Richie, Arthur Allegra and his wife Amanda, Anthony Allegra, John Allegra, Michael Petrozza, Katarina Pfeifer, Jenna Pfeifer, and great grandchildren Zachary, Desirae, Jacob, Avery, Andrew, Amelia and Addison. When you visited Grammie, she always made you feel special, even more so if you had a sleep over!

Ellie was predeceased by her brother Carl Fairbanks, sister Anne-Marie Martin, and grandson Christopher Petrozza who shared the same birthday.

The family would like to acknowledge Judy Gilroy for her self-less acts of kindness and care-giving to both Ellie and Frazer over the past several years. Services will be private
