Obituary of Derek Scott Harvey

Derek Scott Harvey, 38, a longtime resident of Lake Hamilton, Florida passed away on August 23, 2022 at his mother’s residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1983 in Winter Haven, Florida to Jeffrey Scott Harvey and Deborah Carol King. He was of the Christian faith.

Derek was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed airboating, fishing, deer, turkey, hog, and even alligator hunting. He was always a joy to be around and definitely "the life of the party". Derek truly lived his life to the fullest and had fun all along the way.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Scott Harvey and step-grandmother, Margaret  Bradbury. Derek is survived by his mother, Deborah C. Bradbury and her husband, Darryl Bradbury; step-brother, Kade Bradbury of Haines City, FL; maternal grandparents, Bobby King and wife, Jackie of Davenport, FL; paternal grandparents, Joe Harvey and wife, Lynn of  Lake Hamilton, FL; step-grandfather, Kenny Bradbury; aunts, Karen Gashaw and husband, Kyle of Haines City, FL, Kelly Haranda and husband, Josh of Davenport, FL, and Jessica Walter and husband, Chuck of Lake Hamilton, FL; uncle, Michael King and wife, Traci of Winter Haven, FL; step-aunt, Roxanne Bradbury; many cousins; devoted friends; and his fur babies/companions, Ryder & Rubble.  He will be truly missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL.
