Obituary of Jacquelyn Rhinehart

Jacquelyn Causey Rhinehart, 93, daughter of John Vereen Causey and Lerla Blakely Causey, died peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born in Mulberry, FL, and moved to Winter Haven at an early age.  She attended local schools then studied at the Florida State
College for Women in Tallahassee, FL before graduating from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL with a teaching degree.  She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, attended Grace Lutheran Church, and sang in the church choir.  She was an avid reader and had always hoped to see flying cars in use.
In her youth, Jackie had many adventures including flying in a friend’s open-cockpit airplane.  She loved working in her yard and played tennis well into her 80's. Jackie spent her career teaching ESE students in the Polk County School System.  She loved “her children” and taught them life skills such as cooking and shopping, and she passed along her love of gardening to them.  She retired after more than 30 years of teaching.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Cindy Rhinehart, and her son Robert S Rhinehart, III.  She is survived by her sister Joan Causey Barham, her son John Rhinehart (Janet) of Lakeland, a granddaughter Amanda Hill of St. Petersburg, grandsons Adam Rhinehart (Misty) and Nicholas Rhinehart of Winter Haven, and grandson Robert Andrew Rhinehart (Natalie) of Tampa.  She also has two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends of all ages who were like family to her.
A private family service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 450 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL  33823 or to Grace Lutheran Church, 327 Avenue C SE, Winter Haven, FL  33880
