Obituary of Jeannette Smith Waldon

Jeannette Smith Waldon, 82, of Poinciana, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 22, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland to Louis Smith and Rosie Grinage. Jeannette moved to Florida from Severn, Maryland and worked as a special education teacher with the Baltimore City Schools for 30 years until her retirement in 2002. She was of the Catholic faith.
 
Jeannette enjoyed traveling, trips to the casinos and fishing, but do not ask her to remove the fish from the hook. She loved being with her family, spending as much time as she could with all of them. She is remembered as being cheerful, generous, patient and quite cheeky; she will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winston Waldon, Sr.; son, Winston Waldon, Jr.; siblings, Rosie Johnson, Louis Smith, James Smith, Caroline Taylor; brothers in law, Richard Johnson and Charles Taylor. Jeannette is survived by her daughters, Janet Bee and Michele Rangel; siblings, William Smith and wife Robin, Shirley Payne and husband John, Sylvester Smith and wife, Lorraine; daughter in law, Mary Waldon; twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be held at William C. Brown Community Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Maryland. Final resting place will be at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland.
