Cynthia Smith

Obituary of Cynthia Smith

Cynthia Jane Smith, age 68, of Eagle Lake, Florida, passed away on November 15, 2022 at 1:40 pm.

Cindy was born on August 6, 1954, in Nashville, TN.  She moved to Florida in her early twenties and resided in the Central Florida area for most of her adult life.  This is where she raised her children and adopted grandchildren.

She spent most of her life working hard in the hospitality and customer service industries, even owning a few different businesses throughout her life.  She led by example with her incredible work ethic.   Not only was she strong, but she was also kind, generous, funny and loved Jesus more than anything in this world.  She spent her last years buying hundreds of bibles and donating them to local churches and charity organizations so that she could help spread the Word of God.  Quiet morning time with coffee and God was her favorite part of the day!

Some of her favorite things were her beloved dogs and cats.  She was passionate about making sure those who were less fortunate were treated with kindness, including animals.  She spent hours making beautiful quilts and crafts that were often gifts for family members and close friends.  The time, hard work and love she put into creating gifts and giving to others was her way of expressing love and admiration for those around her.

Cindy was preceded in death by her son Mikal Smith.  She is survived by her significant other of 20 years Jim Lynch, daughters Charlotte (Roger) Aldridge, Bonnie Dunn, Jennifer (Elliot) Carlson and Alyssa Smith, son James Smith, sister Laura (Bobby) Barnes, along with 9 grandchildren, 6 great grand children as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, 11/22/22.  Flowers are welcome and can be sent to:  Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
