Obituary of Evelyn Winget Laney
Evelyn Winget Laney, 71, a lifelong resident of Haines City, entered into eternal rest abruptly at her home on the evening of November 20th, 2022. Evelyn was born on May 23, 1951 in Kissimmee, Florida to Roy and Nita Chadwick Winget. She worked for the City of Haines City in accounts payable, until her retirement in 2008.
Evelyn truly had a heart of gold and always stood fast in what she believed. She loved her family dearly as evident by the time she spent caring for her mother, Nita. Evelyn enjoyed being in the woods, bonfires, camping at Sebastian Inlet State Park as well as spending time at her other home in Lake Seminole in Georgia. She also loved decorating her house and moving furniture around.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Winget. The eldest of six children, she is survived by her loving husband, of 35 years, Larry Laney; mother, Nita Winget; and five siblings, Bill Winget, Janet Larence, Sara Holloway, Frank Winget and Helen Sharple. Evelyn was also the favored aunt of multiple nieces and nephews. She will be missed beyond measure.
A celebration of life will be held at the family residence at a future date.
