Betty Lou Clements Cowart
March 2, 1940 – December 23, 2022
Betty Lou Cowart, 82 of Davenport, Florida passed from this life into the presence of her Savior on Thursday, December 23, 2022. Betty was born on March 2, 1940 to Loyd and Izelle Clements in Tenbroeck, Alabama. She moved to Davenport, Florida in 1951 and graduated from Haines City High School. She met the love of her life, Dale Cowart in high school and they were wed on December 21, 1958, celebrating 64 years of marriage this year. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Betty was predeceased by a son Steven Dale, who passed at birth and by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale; daughters Beth Minchin (Malcolm) of Chipley, Florida; Kathy Pruitt (Michael) of Haines City, Florida; Pam Bolden of Lake Wales, Florida; and son Andy Cowart (Lynn) of Orange Park, Florida; brothers Larry Clements (Sue) of Davenport, Florida; Charles Clements (Sharon) of Starke, Florida; Rod Clements (Coralu) of Gainesville, Florida; and Gary Clements (Debbie) of Okeechobee, Florida. Betty was beloved wife, Mother and adored “Mam-ma” to twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and she leaves them all with a rich legacy of eternal significance. Many others claimed Betty as their second “Mom” and her love and generosity will be cherished always.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 28th at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven.
