Obituary of Douglas Mark Reese

Mr. Douglas Mark Reese, age 54, a resident of Davenport, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  Doug was born on May 14, 1968, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Janice Cobb Reese, and Donald H. Reese.

Doug graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1986, then attended the University of Florida for two years and went on to graduate in Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida.  In 1993, he began his career at the Buena Vista Palace where he met Shelly and worked there for 14 years.  He also worked at the Omni in Champions Gate as well as Mystic Dunes Resort. He enjoyed cruising with his family, reading, coin collecting and playing golf.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald H. Reese.  Doug is survived by his loving family, wife of 25 years – Shelly; daughters – Danielle, Allison, and Charlotte; mother – Janice of Lake Wales; brother – Randy of Wellington; sister – Debbie of Sanford; and nephew – Sebastian of Wellington.

To honor Douglas’ memory, there will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 3:00pm at Community Presbyterian Church, Celebration, FL.  We ask attendees to wear bright colors.
