Obituary of Hazel Richardson

Hazel Richardson of Lake Wales, Florida passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was 86 years old.

She was born on Friday, April 3, 1936, to Mallie and Bertha Bailey Elliott in Bartow, Florida and has been a lifelong resident of Polk County. Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family in Auburndale, Florida where they attended K-Ville Assembly of God for many years. She was very active with her children as they grew up, whether it was joining in on the fun with her children and their friends or playing her music for them as they all danced. Hazel was not much of a television watcher, but she was sure to never miss an episode of “In the Heat of the Night” or “Walker, Texas Ranger” as well as she enjoyed watching NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., with whom she dreamt of meeting one day.

She is predeceased by her parents, Mallie and Bertha, and husband, Clayton Richardson. Hazel is survived by her children, Penny and her husband, Pat of Avon Park, FL, Dolores and her significant other Gary of Dundee, FL, Marsha and her husband, Steve of Lake Wales, FL, Clayton, Jr and his girlfriend, Sheila of Fort McCoy, FL, Lyndon and his wife, Helen of St Mary, GA and Sandra of Georgia; as well as siblings, Doris, Kathy, Doug, Patsy and many grand and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City, FL and the funeral will be at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Cemetery In Haines City.
