The trumpets have sounded and the Angels arrived with the golden chariot to pick up Brenda last night around midnight. She has a first class ride and a full set of robes of fine linen with jewels.Heading to to the welcoming party Mama, Grandpa Elisha, Grandma Belle and Pete, Aunt Ted, cousin Stacy, Uncle Mike, cousin Michael Joseph, Aunt Ginny, Uncle Harry, cousin Kimberly, Grandma and Granpa Harris, Aunt Marylee, Aunt Margy, Uncle Wally, Aunt Eva. She is no longer imagining, she is walking, talking and dancing with Jesus. What a blessing.
In the beginning of Dennis's and my relationship it was rocky at times. Brenda took me under her wing and showed me how to understand what to say and do for the best possible outcome from the disagreement. She was the Dennis whisperer. I was a little skeptical at first...but it worked everytime. She loved and accepted me with open arms. Brenda is an amazing woman. Punting a football further than all of the guys in the neighborhood. She knew every deal going on at the grocery store and the internet. Worked out everyman in the Holly Hill orange groves, driving tractors and water trucks spreading her smile and sweet tea all over the groves. Her last job was driving school bus all over Polk county. She never had children of her own....so each and every one of these children were like her own. The good ones, and the bad ones. She knew each and everyone of their names, as well as how to pull them out of their shell or how to discipline by threatening to put on country music if they didn't settle down.
She was proud of her family, her husband and her work, wearing her heart on her sleeve. You knew exactly how she felt. There was no questioning or wondering how she felt Good, bad or indifferent. She was an excellent cook.
I want to share one of our fun times with her was Dennis and I took a conceal carry class with her. She made sure everyone in the class knew Dennis was her little brother even though he was bigger than her. She told the instructor I was his wife and personal secretary. She had the whole class cracking up with her funny comments. We all passed the class.
I know she will be sitting on a bench waiting for you to make it Gene....Don't disappoint her.
I am Honored and blessed to have known hurricane Brenda Harris Smith. I love you Brend for all that you are. I can't wait til we meet again.
I would love to hear any stories about her and any pictures .
