Obituary of Gwendolyn Sue Fulks

Gwendolyn Fulks (“Gwen”), 80, of Winter Haven, Florida went to her heavenly home with Jesus on March 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a gifted teacher. Born in Lackey, Kentucky to James and Verna Daniels, Gwen has been in the area for more than 50 years. Gwen married Fred at the age of 23 and they spent the next 58 years happily married, creating a beautiful life together.  After being known as “Mom,” she was most honored to be called “Meema” by her grandchildren, upon whose lives she leaves an indelible mark.  Professionally, she was an engaging and admired high school science teacher for more than two decades. However, her favorite teaching role was faithfully serving as the Teaching Director at Community Bible Study. Not only did she share the message of Jesus as a teacher, she lived it every day of her life since following Him as her Lord and Savior at the age of 16.  She was a lifetime learner who enjoyed listening to music - especially hymns from her childhood, writing, and being actively involved in her local church.  

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, James and Verna. She is survived by her husband, Fred Fulks; daughters, Jennifer Fulks and Christina (JW) Taylor; brother, Noah (Bud) Daniels; granddaughters, Gwyneth and Madeline; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Although Gwen will be missed by all who knew and loved her, she is now rejoicing in amazement and delight at the beauty of God.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven, FL. A graveside service will follow at 4:00pm at Rolling Hills Cemetery, 4810 Tilden Road, Winter Haven, FL.
