Obituary of Ted Biondo

Theodore Joseph Biondo age 79 passed away March 16, 2023 in Celebration, Florida. Ted was born October 26, 1943 in St Louis Missouri. He was the son of Joseph Biondo and Reba Like Biondo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Patricia Reed Biondo; son Tony Biondo (Margie) and daughter Laura Skaggs (Brian); grandchildren Michael Biondo (Merrie), Jenny Biondo, Ryan Biondo, Jessica Guedel (Mat), Carrie Skaggs and Hope Hudgins; great grandchildren Olive Biondo and Jack Biondo; sisters Theresa Hutchinson (Les) and Joann Arter; many nieces and nephews.

Ted was valedictorian of Central High School class of 1961 and went on to graduate from St Louis University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he worked for McDonnell Aircraft working on the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs in the 1960s. He relocated his family to Florida to work on the Gemini Space Program. After time in Florida and California, Ted settled in Rockford IL working for Sunstrand for 30 years until his retirement. After retirement, Ted spent his time trying to keep Rockford’s taxes low and education standards high. He was a Winnebago County Board member, Rockford School Board member and Rock Valley College Board of Trustee member.
