Obituary of Don Wallensack

Don Wallensack of Haines City, FL passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was 92 years old.

He was born on Monday, December 15, 1930, to Daniel and Mary Murphy Wallensack in Elmhurst, Illinois and moved to Haines City in 1983 from Lombard, Illinois. Don was a proud member of the United States Navy serving from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of St Ann Catholic Church in Haines City and enjoyed Chicago sports, especially the Cubs and Blackhawks, but his true passion was golf.

Don is predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary; his son, Daniel Wallensack and sister, Jean Maas. He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Bobi Wallensack; children, Deb Weimer and her husband, Dave of Lombard, IL, Dave Wallensack and his wife, Kim of Naperville, IL, Doug Wallensack and his wife, Jean of Laguna Hills, CA; sister, Alice Dunne of Tonica, IL and grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Stacy, Heather, Stephanie, Jessica, Sarah, Ashley, Matthew as well as great granddaughter, Piper.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, April 17, 2023, from 9:00 am until the funeral at 10:00 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Internment will follow at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with the United States Navy providing military honors.
