Obituary of Robert "Ricky" Newberry

Robert “Ricky” Newberry, 65, of Eagle Lake, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 24, 2023, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.  

Ricky was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered for his sense of humor, work ethic, and his dedication to his family.  

He was born on December 7, 1957, to Robert L and Gwendolyne Newberry. He married his teenage sweetheart; Debbie and they raised 5 wonderful children together. He was a hard worker and put his family first, always making sure we had plenty to eat, even if that meant doing without himself. He was a jokester and always had something funny to say. He loved to camp, fish and tinker with anything that had an engine, and he could fix or build anything he set his mind to.  

Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Robert L Newberry. Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Debbie Newberry of Eagle Lake, Florida; mother, Gwendolyne Newberry of Eagle Lake, Florida; children, Justin Newberry of Sevierville, Tennessee, Jennifer (Jason) McMillan of Lakeland, Florida, Jordan (Kailee) Newberry of Winter Haven, Florida, Jodi (Rob) Beringer of Franklin, Tennessee, and Jacob (Brooke) Newberry of Auburndale, Florida; sisters, Sonia (David), and Cindy; his beloved dog, Sophie. He was the proud grandfather of Peyton, Jackson, Brycen, Beau, Carson, Sawyer, Brock and Jameson; several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
