Patricia Hitchcock

Obituary of Patricia P. Hitchcock

Patricia P. Hitchcock, a long-time resident of Winter Haven, Florida, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning April 23, 2023.  Born on September 10, 1928, “during a hurricane,” in Winter Haven, Florida, she lived in Winter Haven for over 50 years. During her long life, she was a church organist and pianist, and a school teacher for many years.  In 1961, along with her husband Rev. Gene R. Hitchcock, she helped establish Parkland Baptist Church in Winter Haven, where they served for 30 years.  Even after she retired, she continued to play the piano for various churches in the Polk County area.

Despite her accomplishments as a talented musician, Mrs. Hitchcock’s favorite things to do were traveling, (Banff/Lake Louise was her favorite,) walking the beach at Englewood, Florida, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  But her greatest love was telling people about Jesus-store clerks, waitresses, someone in line behind her at the store.  She witnessed to everyone she met.

She is survived by her two sons, David and Richard Hitchcock, her daughter Mary Thomas,
8 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven.
