Obituary of Wilfred Henseler

Wilfred Henseler, of Davenport Fl. passed away on June 1, 2023. He was born in Saltau Germany to Anna Emma Sophie Schmidt Henseler and Jakob Paul Maria Henseler on July 12, 1941.

The family immigrated to the United States in 1953. They lived on a farm near Marshall IN. for many years. Wil’s father passed away in 1965 and mother passed in 2017. He is survived by his brother Hans (Susan) Henseler of Decatur IL and sister Irma Tolin of New Market IN.

Wil graduated in 1960 from Rockville Jr./Sr. High School. He married Phyllis Jean Swaim, who passed away in July 1992. They had 2 daughters, Ingrid Deanne McCarter and Dawn Michelle Starr, who passed away February 2015.

He had 6 grandchildren – Kenneth (Alicia) Henseler of Corinth TX, Freddie Jr. (Jenn) Bloebaum of Billings MT, Jennifer Bloebaum of Linton IN and Sarah (Tom) Cotten of Marshall IN. and Shelby McCarter, who passed away in 2010, And Samantha Starr of Indianapolis IN. 4 great grand children, Ava Henseler, Kendall Bloebaum, Kolten Bloebaum and Kelbi Bloebaum.

Wil retired from Duke Energy in 1995 and married Elaine Turbeville,who died in 2018.

He worked for Polk County Sheriff’s Dept. for a few years in Florida before an illness took away his ability to walk.

Cremation was entrusted to Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Haines City FL

There will be a memorial service at the True Blue Winery on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 5pm in Davenport Fl. A memorial in Indiana will be announced at a later date.
