Vicki Wright

Obituary of Vicki Wright

Vicki Wright, a cherished resident of Zephyrhills, Florida, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 72. Born in Davenport, Iowa, she was the beloved daughter of Willard Frank and Marjorie Carol Wright. Vicki's life was marked by her unwavering love for God and family, which guided her every step.

Following her graduation from Bettendorf High School, Vicki pursued her passion for caregiving by attending Scott County Community College, where she obtained her LPN certification. She dedicated several years of her life to working at Mercy Hospital in Clinton, IA as a nurse before embarking on a fulfilling career as a Cosmetologist and later, dog groomer after obtaining an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Hamilton Technical College.

Vicki's compassionate nature extended beyond people and animals as she found joy in helping her dear friend Daryl Claussen care for his farm, during which time they raised and showed their Grand Champion Nigerian Goats.

She continued to radiate her unwavering faith as a devoted follower of Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in Le Claire, IA. Her spirituality served as a source of comfort and strength, shaping her character and outlook on life.

A woman of diverse interests, Vicki had a keen eye for beauty. Whether it was indulging in her favorite pastime of shopping, adorning herself with beautiful and sentimental jewelry, or engaging in arts and crafts, she expressed her appreciation for the aesthetic world around her. Vicki's love for animals was a reflection of her tender heart, as she dedicated herself to raising, and caring for them.

Vicki leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories. Her Friend and Partner, Daryl Claussen, with whom she spent 20 loving years.  Her daughters, Heather (Glenn) Cousins and Erin (Phillip) Carden, were a source of immeasurable joy and pride in her life. Her grandchildren, Arianna Cousins, Seda Carden, and Ember Carden, held a special place in her heart, and their presence brought her immense happiness. Vicki is also survived by her sister, Sharon (Randy) Groepper, who shared a deep bond with her throughout their lives.

The void left by Vicki's passing will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her vibrant spirit, generosity, kind heart, and creative flair touched the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark of warmth and compassion. As we bid her farewell, we hold onto the precious memories and the love she shared. Vicki Wright will be greatly missed but forever etched in our hearts.
