Obituary of James R. Silvernail

James R. Silvernail, 86, of Haines City, Florida passed away on June 29, 2023 at the Winter Haven Hospital. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Byron Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan to Dale Raymond and Hilda Maude Schieder Silvernail. James served in the Army Reserves for eight years, worked for fourteen and a half years for Leer-Sigler Company and then for General Motors for twenty-six years as a tool & die maker, until his retirement in 1996. He moved to Florida in 2020 from Hopkins, Michigan and he was of the Methodist faith.

James devoted many years to his expert scroll saw woodworking and his wife will always help him paint his beautiful creations. He truly loved sharing his wood creations with his family and friends. James enjoyed throwing horseshoes, golfing, listening to country music and singing karaoke. His family will remember him as an angel, quiet and loveable man. It was said that, he said what he meant and meant what he said.

He is predeceased in death by his parents and brother, Roy Silvernail. James leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, of 9 years, Susan Kay Silvernail; son, Dan Silvernail and wife, Pam of Dorr, MI; daughter, Sherri Deeter and husband, Tom of Wayland, MI; brothers, Larry Silvernail and wife, Pat and Jack Silvernail and wife, Karen both of Byron Center, Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

A service will be held at a later date.
