Obituary of Abel Orphee

Abel Orphée, 78, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Advent Health Heart of Florida. Abel was born on May 18, 1945 in Jérémie, Haiti and moved to Winter Haven, Florida in the 1990s. 

Abel was known for his big smile, willingness to help and his unwillingness to let life’s circumstances or age slow him down. He was an active member of the Haitian Community Church of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Abel enjoyed singing in the choir, working in his garden (especially his mango tree), watching soccer and CNN. 

When asked about his greatest accomplishments he would always say his children.

Abel is preceded in death by his parents, Cedoine and Alida Orphée.

Abel is survived by his first born son, Duckens Orphée (Didi) and Didi’s wife Martine Orphée, Abel's son, Dr. Jimmy Orphée, Abel's daughter, Nathalie Orphée (Taly). Abel is also survived by numerous grandchildren; nieces and nephews. 

He will be missed by all of who knew and loved him.
