Uncle David consistently exhibited his unique, admirable characteristics throughout my lifetime. He was a close companion to his mother to her end, and he dearly loved all of those whose lives were connected to his. Despite the communication barriers that his hearing impairment presented, he would intently engage with us during family gatherings…wanting to know what was going on in our lives. I witnessed how Uncle David persisted in his employment career. He enthusiastically enjoyed following sports events and a good meal, as I recall. He carried on his life after the deaths of numerous family members and close acquaintances. His only remaining sister was a constant source of endearment and support; thank you, Aunt Sharon. And thank you to his church family. He is now joyfully reunited with numerous loved ones. Enjoy heaven, Uncle David. We will miss you.

I have known David all my life. My parents, Walter and Barbara Wheeler worked with David in the Deaf ministry at the Inwood church in Winter Haven. We would do every event together such as summer Deaf camp at Lake Yale, Deaf picnics, Deaf conferences, Deaf Club, Deaf holiday parties and trips to places such as Cypress Gardens, Bok Tower, Weeki Wachee and so much more. No matter where we were, the characteristic that stood out to me was his gentle kindness. He served God with a humble spirit. The Lord will surely welcome David into glory saying “Good and faithful servant”. Suzanne Wheeler Branson

I will miss texting you during College Football Bowl games! We would send emojis back and forth, some angry, cry and laugh faces! I love you Uncle David and one day, I will see you in Heaven
