Obituary of Dana Lynn Quackenbush
Dana Lynn Quackenbush passed away on August 13, 2023. He was born in Rochester, NY and was raised in Lima, NY. In 1973 he worked for Kirkwood Oil. Dana graduated from Honeoye Fall Falls, NY in 1975. He played soccer and basketball. After graduating from high school, he drove a truck for his father. In 1978 he moved to Winter Haven, FL to work for KJ Transportation as a truck broker and later worked for Leonard’s Express as an agent. He retired in 2017 after 39 years of service.
Dana enjoyed watching ESPN, NASCAR (was a huge Darrell Waltrip fan, back in the day), and an avid Gator’s fan. He loved classic cars. He owned a 1970 Chevelle SS for 33 years, which he restored. He loved cruising and going to the Old Town to show it off and was very proud of it. Dana loved watching the Mecum Auction, Food Network, and going to Longboat Key to relax with his wife. He loved music, especially ZZ Top, cranking up the stereo with his air guitar. Believe it or not, he loved watching General Hospital. His favorite character was Sonny Corinthos.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Susan Costello Quackenbush; daughter: Leslie Quackenbush; son: Bradley Quackenbush (Megan); mother: Deanna Quackenbush; brothers: Brian Quackenbush (Jaci), Alan Quackenbush, Troy Quackenbush (Leslie); grandson: Rhett Quackenbush and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 2 at 3:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
