The day my Dad died, we were supposed to go to Gary's. After his funeral, we had the reception at Gary's. For 4 generations, my family has met there to celebrate, to grieve and to eat some of the best damn oysters on the planet. SO MANY oysters, SO MANY vodka tonics! One of my Dad's best memories was Gary getting up from his favorite perch at the end of the bar to sing Happy Birthday with us. He felt he had really "arrived" as a regular then. The place is special and was my Dad's "third place" after family and work. It's not just a restaurant, it's a community treasure. Somewhere, my Dad, Gary and Jimmy Buffett are for sure sharing a drink and some laughs. Our sincere condolences to Susan, Drew and all the friends, family and staff. He will be missed.
