Obituary of Robert Lynwood Wiley

Robert Lynwood Wiley of Lake Hamilton, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. He was 87 years old. He was born on Sunday, December 23, 1935, Bascom, Florida to Joseph and Annie Conrad Wiley.

Lynwood graduated from Malone High School in 1954 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for four years. He married the Love of his life, Velma Marie Terry on June 3, 1966, and worked for George L. Simonds Company in Winter Haven, he then started a career in the US Postal Service and retired from there in 1999. Robert was a longtime member of NorthRidge Church in Haines City, and he enjoyed being outside, whether it was working in his yard or fishing on the lake. What he truly loved was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Annie Lee; wife, Velma Marie Terry Wiley; his brother, Lowell Wiley; sister, Faye Wiley Land and his precious grandson, Kaeden Wiley. Lynwood is survived by his sons, Robert Wiley and his wife, Dawn of Lake Hamilton, Florida, Kennon Wiley and his wife, Heather of Palm Harbor, Florida; grandchildren, Courtney Lingle and her husband, Mike of Lakeland, Florida, Briana Wiley of Lake Hamilton, Kaeris Wiley and Kamden Wiley of Palm Harbor, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10 am until the funeral at 11 am at NorthRidge Church. Interment will follow the funeral at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marie.
