Obituary of Berniece Johnson

Berniece Johnson, 91, of Haines City, Florida passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023 in Winter Haven, FL. She was born on January 28, 1932, in Tamms, Illinois to Elmer and Clara Powless Lingle.

Berniece was a member of NorthRidge Church in Haines City and served faithfully in several different areas of church life. She found joy in her family as well as gardening, puzzles, and just being active.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clarence, who passed away in November of 2014. She was also preceded in death by her son, James, and five siblings.

Berniece leaves behind her children, Candy (Ernie) Webnar, Sharon (Tom) Freeman, Terry (Beverly) Johnson, Mike (Sandra) Jordan, her sister, Helen Hawkins of DeKalb, IL, sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Berniece’s life will be held at NorthRidge Church in Haines City, FL on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service.
