Obituary of Joyce Ferguson
Betty “Joyce” Turner Ferguson, 76, of Lake Alfred, FL passed awayThursday, September 21, 2023 at Winter Haven Hospital.
Joyce was born May 13, 1947 in Kentucky and lived the first few years in Corbin, Ky. During her childhood her family moved to Western Kentucky where her father, Kenneth Z Turner, built and ran the local Radio Station in Fulton. There she lived and raised her son Toby. After he went to college, she moved to Lynnville, Ky where she opened her first Barber Shop called Flattops & Ponytails. There she found her calling to great success with her business. She would later sell the business and move to Mayfield, Ky to be closer to her parents and care for them in their twilight years.
Not long after her parents passed she moved to Orlando, Florida in 2007 to be with her son. That is when she met the love of her life in Bill Ferguson. They courted each other for a while and married on January 14th, 2012 with the vows being performed by her son Toby and in front of Bill’s sons Nick and Travis. The couple resided in Lake Alfred, FL where they built a life of joy, happiness and love while they began to check item after item off of their bucket lists with each other. They were each others greatest adventure.
She was and is loved by her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Agnes Turner and her brother, Ken Turner.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Ferguson, his two sons Nick & Travis Ferguson and her son Toby S. Pruett.
