Obituary of Linda Dickey

Linda Dickey of Davenport, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sunday, March 28, 1948 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to James and Helen Abrahamsen Dalton and moved to Davenport some 20 years ago from Roselle Park, New Jersey.

Linda was the first woman ever to work at the Exxon Refinery in Bayway, New Jersey. It is here that she met her future husband, George. She was also very proud of her time spent working for the Salvation Army, especially during 9/11, working right at ground zero, assisting the first responders as well as the victims. She was very much a Christian woman, who would always give of herself. She was a member, active in the planting of Living Hope Church of Davenport, Florida. Prior to that, she was a member of Cornerstone Church for many years. Linda loved playing games and especially enjoyed her Friday game days with her sisters. She also took great joy in baking and crafting for others.

She is predeceased by her parents, James and Helen; her husband of 40 years, George Dickey; her son, Kevin Evans and her brother, James Dalton. Linda is survived by her loving family, son, Ed Evans and his wife, Dawn of Milford, Connecticut; daughters, Nancy Dickey of Davenport, Laura Dickey of Davenport; sisters, Nancy Thorn of Davenport, Janine Cattleman and her husband, Roy of Davenport; grandchildren, Mylinda Adams and her husband, Dan, Jessica Evans, Mackenzie Evans, Dalton Evans, Nelson Flores; great grandchildren, Piper Adams and Quinn Adams.
