Obituary of Wanuase Williams

Wanuase Williams, 92 of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on May 15, 2024 at Spring Lake Nursing Home. She was born in Hazelhurst, Georgia, but moved to Florida as a young girl, calling it home ever since.

Wanuase was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Her favorite thing to do was gardening in her back yard nursery where she spent many days after her retirement. She was one of the fastest sectionizers in Polk county in the Citrus Industry for many years. The most important thing in Wanuase’s life was her family, and she spent every moment she could with them. She was the matriarch that brought everyone together for numerous family gatherings.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Lloyd and Minnie Lee (Davis) Bohannon; her husband, Charles L. Williams Sr; her brothers and sisters; daughter, Glynda Latham and grandson, Nicholas Alan Stewart. She is survived by her son, Charles L. Williams Jr. and his wife Glenda of Auburndale; daughter, Sherri Denise Stewart and her husband Mark of Auburndale; five grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  

The family will receive friends from 10AM to 11AM, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
