A History of Caring

Back in 1933, times were simpler. People knew and trusted their neighbors. Entire communities grew up together, rejoiced and mourned together, and Haines City's trusted funeral home was owned by Dave Lane. Dave's philosophy was to help families celebrate the life lived, and to encourage them to say goodbye in whatever unique and personal way they wanted.

The community appreciated that commitment and responded to it. The business continued to grow and in 1955, Dave's son-in-law, William F. Holt, took over the business, later renaming it Lane-Holt Funeral Home.

Although the Lane-Holt Funeral Home was sold, it was recently purchased back by the Holt family and is now doing business as Oak Ridge Funeral Care. Today the tradition continues. Families whose past generations found solace within the hometown funeral home's reputation can now turn to the Lane-Holt family's third generation funeral director, Dave Lane Holt. His brand-new facility, Oak Ridge Funeral Care, promises to bring his family's oldest traditions and reputation alive along with the newest technology and most beautiful surroundings.

Oak Ridge Funeral Care is anchored by proud hometown roots that have been spreading in this community for over 70 years. This family tree is an impressive one, distinguished by its tireless dedication to the community it loves.
