Obituary of Madie Green Monday Ellis

Mrs. Madie Green Monday Ellis, 93, a 9 month resident of Astoria Health and Rehab, Winter Haven, FL passed away on June 22, 2012 of natural causes. Mrs. Ellis was born July 9, 1918 near Cottonwood in Houston County, AL to Joshua W. and Dora W. Tindell Monday. In 1954 she moved to Haines City, FL, living there until Sept., 2011. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a retired citrus grader for Haines City Citrus Growers Assoc. She was a member of Calvary First Assembly of God, Haines City. She will be remembered for her devoted love for Jesus and her family. Madie was a faithful friend and kind neighbor to many during her long life. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, of 37 years, Otis Ellis; brothers, Romey, William Henry, Elmer, Elton "Geab" and James "Earl" Monday. She is survived by her daughters, Sybil F. (Curtis) Crawford of Auburndale, FL, Linda D. (Chris) Whiffen of Haines City; sisters, Vera Mae Kelly of Dothan, AL, Marie Richards of Alabaster, AL; brother, Leon "Ralph" Monday of Ashford, AL; grandchildren, Jennifer L. (Donald) Griffith of Haines City, Christopher G. (Nicole) Whiffen of Haines City; great grandchildren, Kristen L., Keaton D., and Kailey Griffith and Sara N. Whiffen. A visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm and the funeral service will be Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 2 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
