Obituary of Penny Pearson

Stella "Penny" Pearson, 86, of Winter Haven passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at her residence in Winter Haven due to heart failure. Born June 23, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama she moved to Winter Haven in 1951. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked many years as a waitress at several restaurants including, Farmer Jones Red Barn, Foxfire, Michaels, The Hartridge, and Holiday Inn. She loved her family and to spend time with all the children and animals in her life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George. She is survived by: a daughter Dee Dee (Andy) Brewer; a son, Billy (Cecelia) Lowery of Jameson, AL; a step-daughter, Vikki (Ronnie) Melvin of Reidsville, NC; a sister, Bunchie (Steve) Devoy of Tampa; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Yates, Brent (Jena) Brewer and Celestie (Kent) Mullins; 5 great grandchildren, Owen, Pearson, Carly, Maddie and Clarissa; 3 nieces, Debby (Mike) Church of Lake Wales, Shauna (Derek) Dykes of Winter Haven and their daughter, Sydney and Callie Church; and nephews, John Church and Steve (Sherry) Hisaw and his family. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Her remains will be placed with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery.
