Obituary of Melba D. Simons

Melba D. Simons, 83, of Winter Haven, FL died Saturday, February 09, 2013 at her residence due to cancer. Born February 5, 1930 in Greene County, Arkansas she moved to Winter Haven in 1983 from Flint, Michigan. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ in Winter Haven. Preceded by her husband Thomas in 1993, she is survived by: 2 daughters, Nancy Bailey and her husband Stephen Granger of Visalia, CA and Kathryn M. Simons of Winter Haven, FL; 3 sons, Thomas L. Simons and his wife Sue of Henderson, KY, David L. Simons and his wife Angie of Tifton, GA and Phillip D. Simons and his wife Kim of Winter Haven, FL; a brother, Bill Thomason of Flushing, MI; 2 sisters, Patsy Howeth of Oklahoma City, OK and Lou Ann Coolich of Clio, MI; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9:00am till 10:00am, on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
