Obituary of Bessie Youngblood Bass

Bessie Youngblood Bass, 90, of Haines City, Florida passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at her granddaughter's residence in Bartow, Florida. She was born on January 8, 1923 in Sylvester, Georgia to John and Johnnie Taylor Youngblood and moved to Haines City in 1937 from Tift County, Georgia. Bessie was retired from Haines City Citrus Growers Assoc. after working there for over 20 plus years, and she was of the Baptist faith. Bessie was a hard worker but she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ellis Bass; son, Carlton Bass; daughter, Joyce Anderson and great grandson, Philip Clark. Bessie is survived by her son, Roger Bass and his wife Jeanelle of Lake City, Florida; siblings, E.A. Youngblood of Tifton, Georgia, James Youngblood of Dothan, Alabama, Jimmie Marchant of Tifton, Georgia; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 1:00 P.M - 2:00 P.M. with the funeral following at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. the burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
