Obituary of Robert Piccione

Robert "Rob" Piccione, 63, of Dundee, Florida passed away on April 12, 2013. Rob was born on September 7, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York to Ignazio and Eleanor Titone Piccione and moved to Dundee from Holland, Michigan in November of 2010 to enjoy his retirement. He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving for some ten years discharging at the rank of Staff Sergeant. While he was in the Air Force he learned the trade of welding and was stationed in several locations including Thailand for a year, England for over 1 year and then finally to Southern California. After leaving the Air Force Rob worked as a welder for Chevron Oil in California on some experimental equipment. In 1986 the family moved to Holland, Michigan where Rob worked on Heavy machinery until his retirement. Rob was a member of the American Legion and his hobbies included flying remote controlled airplanes, going camping, fishing and boating. His greatest enjoyment was travelling around in their camper over the summers since his retirement. In fact he was fortunate enough to have had the time to take his grandchildren with him and his wife, Alta, last summer for some special memories. Rob was predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife of 39 years, Alta F. Piccione; children, Terri Tolomeo and her husband Geno of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Matthew Piccione and his soon to be wife, Crystal of Ingleside, Texas, Tony Piccione and his wife Kim of Royal Oak, Michigan; grandchildren, Alex and Micki Tolomeo and Austyn Piccione. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 am with Father Robert Mitchell officiating at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
