Obituary of George R. Scherer

George R. Scherer, 88, of Haines City, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe Center in Auburndale. A native of Clifton, New Jersey, born October 3, 1924 to George H. and Josephine Marion Scherer, George has lived here for several years. He was a retired Chief of Police from the Lincoln Park (New Jersey) Police department; was a US Army Veteran during World War II; a member of the Winter Haven Masonic Lodge #186 F&AM; Order of the Scottish Rite; Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; Lake Region HI-12 Club #544; York Rite of Freemasonry (Florida); and he was either a member, or past president of several police Associations. He is survived by a son David, and his guardian Barbara Hagatha. Interment will be in Totowa, New Jersey under the direction of the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln Park, NJ.
