Obituary of Marvin Earl Speck

Marvin Earl Speck, 74, of Haines City died Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Auburndale. He was born November 6, 1938 in Flintville, Tennessee to William and Bessie (Johnson) Speck. Mr. Speck moved to the local area in 1955 from Fayetville, Tennessee. Mr. Speck worked as a truck driver for Race & Race and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City. He loved doing cedar woodworking and was known for projects he would do for his church, family and friends. He was also an avid collector of eagle statues. Mr. Speck was predeceased by his parents; son Guy Rexford Speck; brothers Ray Speck, Melvin Paul Speck and Dale Mack Speck; and sister Faye Speck. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Katherine Rogers Speck; sons Michael Speck of Oviedo, FL, Richard Speck of Huntsville, AL, and David Speck of Ozark, AL; daughters Donna Speck Roper of Haines City and Wendy Speck of Lake Wales; sisters Dorothy White of Nashville, TN, Barbara Kerns of Fayetville, TN, Rachel Mann of Kingsport, TN and Ruby Hamby of Antioch, TN; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11 AM at Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, FL interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
