Obituary of Margaret Purvis

Margaret Purvis, 85, of Winter Haven, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. Born May 10, 1928 in Alamo, GA she moved to Winter Haven in 1957. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Wahneta Church of God. Mrs. Purvis is preceded in death by: her husband Douglas Purvis; a son, Emory Purvis; and two daughters, Ruth Barlow and Sandra Guemble. She is survived by: 2 sons, Ray Purvis and Jerry Purvis, both of Winter Haven; 2 daughters, Elaine Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA and Linda Lacey of Bartow, FL; a brother, Thadys Brown of Summerville, GA; 2 sisters, Christine Courson and Dorothy Whitley, both of Millwood, GA; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm, Friday, August 23, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
