Obituary of Carl Gorman
HAINES CITY - Carl Gorman, 80, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2013 at his home in Haines City due to COPD. Mr. Gorman was preceded in death by his mother Emma Rahn Gorman and father Clyde Warfield Gorman. He is survived by his wife Frances Gorman; children Patricia (Jon) Murphy, Ricky (Margie) Gorman, David (Renae) Gorman, William (Patricia) Drummond, Wayne (Mary) Drummond, Linda (Ray) Sexton, Cathy (Tom) Harrison, and Kay Tamme; eighteen grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. He was born on September 27, 1932, in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army and was one of four survivors of the famous Battle of Blood Hill during the Korean War. He was also the proud owner and operator of the Dundee Service Station for many years and was a successful homing pigeon aficionado with 50 years of competitive racing experience and was the recipient of over 70 trophies and awards for his accomplishments. Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5-7PM with Funeral Services Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City.
