Obituary of Dorothy J. Lyle Smith

DOROTHY SMITH, 92 of Dundee, Florida passed peacefully at home on September 13, 2013. Dorothy was born in Dundee in 1921 and was a lifetime resident of the city. She worked at The Crossroads, formally Bishop Gray Inn, in Davenport as a nursing assistant. She served faithfully for 42 years as a servant of the ill and aging, and was committed to the progress of the Episcopal Church of Haines City. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Ann Donahey, son-in-law, Dayl Donahey, and daughter-in-law Jerene Smith, all located in Winter Haven; five grandchildren, Stacey Donahey, Maryville IL, Jeffrey Donahey, Granite City IL, Shana Smith and Daryl Futch, Winter Haven, Darren Futch, Aurora KY; and seven great grandchildren. Any memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Haines City, or Good Shepherd Hospice of Auburndale. A viewing will be held between 3-4 PM with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 15th at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City.
