I miss you Doug. The only thing that gives me comfort is knowing you are in heaven with our baby. There so many things to say and not enough words to say them. Until I see you again, I'll miss you.

Doug, Even though we never got a chance to meet in person, I can only smile when looking at your pictures and videos. I say to myself “I see where Trevor Grassel got his handsome looks and charismatic personality”. I enjoy listening to your son share his loving memories of you with me and admire how you loved your family very much. I remember the times when we spoke over the phone and you were always laughing and always with a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances where. You will never be forgotten. This is not good-bye but will see you soon!!

Doug, I think about you and have for a long time, wondering how you were doing. I would write Hi on packages Nick would send you. I remember you going through my garden and picking veggies. You were always smiling and in a great frame of mind. I dont think you had a mean bone in your body, you never said a cruel thing about anyone. You had your own demons to fight, but never passed your problems on others. Rest in peace Doug, you earned it. Aunt Cathy

I knew your dad "back in the day" even before the Ohio Express..in the days of Sir Timothy and the Royals. I put on a benefit for a few years in the last decade and your dad was kind enough to come and play with his old bandmates. It was so great to see Doug again and we had a nice long conversation and a big hug. So sorry for your loss... Peace, love and rock n roll, Nancy Wasen

To Doug, the world of music has lost a great friend, our family has lost a piece of our hearts. You truly were a loving and caring part of our family, you were always happy and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. You always called me Mom, and I really felt like your Mom, you did grocery shopping for me and would run back to the store if you got the wrong thing or forgot something, you never complained. And the little quips, how Trace and Shelly and I would have our suck and puff on the porch, for those that don't know, it was our coffee and cigarette time. Cigarettes were horribles, whats the schmeer, I could go on and on. But I have you in my heart, will forever miss you. Love you always, Mom Peggy

Hey Doug, It was great knowing you and traveling with you and "The Ohio Express". It was a BLAST. I know we had our bad times but mostly things were GREAT! I miss those days! I will see you again when my gig is up and I will be on the road again.

Uncle Doug- Words can't express how much everyone misses you. But we will all hold on to the memories we have with you. The memory that I will hold on to the most, is you coming home with a bag full of chicken gizzards and calling me frog lips. I'll hold on to these memories for as long as I live. Love, Jamie

To my dad - I love you and I miss you so very much. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we have shared, from our bike rides, to the all you can eat crab leg dinners, to you taking me to work with you. You are an amazing person, the world is worse off now that you are no longer apart of it. I will never forget.
