Obituary of John Holuk

Mr. John Holuk, Jr of Winter Haven, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe Center in Auburndale. He was 96. A veteran of World War II who served in the Army Band. A multi-talented musician who played piano, organ, accordion, sax, clarinet and trumpet; he had his own band in the 1940's and 50's. He continued to play, on occasion, in various bands, well into his 80's. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. John is survived by two daughters, Joan (Frank) Veneziano of Winter Haven Florida and Doris Farrar of Youngtown, Arizona, six grandchildren and fifteen great grand children. John ws a four year resident at Spring Haven until his death. He will be interred in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, beside his beloved wife of 70 years, Lucy. His love of life was only exceeded by his love of music.
