Obituary of Zada N. Hoag

DAVENPORT - Zada Loucks Hoag, the youngest child of John E. and Bille O. Loucks, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at her home in Davenport. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 20, 1932. Her family moved to Florida in early 1933. She attended Orange County schools, graduating from Orlando Senior High in 1949 and Centre College in Danville, Kentucky with a Bachelor Degree in the arts. She was married to Thomas P. Hoag for 54 years and worked with him as his accounting assistant for 40 years. She enjoyed participation in the Haines City Community Theater and followed her mothers love of antiques in the antique business for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother William; and sisters Julia and Agatha. She is survived by her daughter Cathie Smith of Davenport; son Thomas Hoag of Bradenton; grandsons Ryan Moore of Winter Haven, Derek Moore of Davenport, Justin Hoag of Winter Haven; step-grandchildren Virginia Smith of Nashville, TN, Steve Smith Jr of Charleston, WV; two great grand children; many nieces and nephews; and her dedicated caregivers Michelle, Pamela, Nichole and Vernita. Visitation will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10-11 AM with Funeral Service at 11 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City. Interment will be at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Humane Society of Polk County, 555 Sage Road, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
